Hydroxy-Ethylidene-1-1-Diphosphonic-Acid. (HEDP 60%)

Properties:

HEDP is an organic phosphate inhibitor capable of forming a stable six-element chelating complex with metal ions such as iron, copper and zinc, thereby dissolving the oxide layer on the metal surface. At temperatures up to 250°C, HEDP exhibits excellent scale and corrosion inhibition. In addition, it is chemically stable under high pH conditions, not easy to hydrolyze, and has good stability under conventional photothermal conditions, and its ability to resist acid base and chlorine oxidation exceeds that of other organophosphates. HEDP can also react with metal ions in water, especially calcium ions, showing excellent scale resistance and significant threshold effects. HEDP also has good synergies when combined with other water treatment chemicals.

HEDP comes in the form of a solid crystalline powder and is especially suitable for winter and cold regions. Its high purity makes it useful for cleaning in the electronics industry, but also as a synergist for household chemical products.

Usage:

HEDP is used as scale and corrosion inhibition in circulating cool water system, oil field and low-pressure boilers in fields such as electric power, chemical industry, metallurgy,

fertilizer, etc. 

In light woven industry, HEDP is used as detergent for metal and nonmetal. In dyeing industry, HEDP is used as peroxide stabilizer and dye-fixing agent;  In non-cyanide electroplating, HEDP is used as chelating agent. The dosage of 1-10mg/L is preferred as scale inhibitor, 10-50mg/L as corrosion inhibitor, and 1000-2000mg/L as detergent. Usually, HEDP is used together with polycarboxylic acid.
